Whilst trying to unload a tinnie from the vehicles roof to enjoy a spot of fishing 15 years ago then stumbling and having it land on top of him, Steve new there had to b e a better way.
Using all aluminium construction plus a 12v electric winch the BoatHoist simply bolts onto your existing heavy duty roof racks. The boat then glides (using the winch) up and down detachable aluminium arms that connect to the roof load frame and rest on your existing nudge/bull bar making the BoatHoist the only automatic front loading system on the market anywhere in the world.
HE DIDN’T STOP THERE
We were planning our own tour and dearly wished to take the boat but were yet to find a safe storage place to transport the motor and fuel tank then how do you launch the boat once unloaded? We’d heard stories of:
- people carrying the boat motor in the vehicle strapped in the back seat almost like a 3rd passenger but the fumes bothered us.
- of motors mounted on the caravan that broke off or were damaged/stolen.
- fold-up trailers weighing up to 60kg mounted on the rear caravan bumper and other custom modifications to carry all the boating extras that affect the caravan balance and compliance.
Steve decided he could solve all these problems so he invented the “BOATHOIST SYSTEM” that has all 3 requirements packed up in one product.

Our vehicles roof capacity was 160kg so Steve made a frame not only for the MOTOR to travel but for the Fuel Tank PLUS Boating Safety Gear on the roof (with room to spare) in the upturned boat meaning all the boating equipment was safely stored until needed.
HE DIDN’T STOP THERE EITHER
Finally and most importantly Steve designed the BoatHoist so that all the parts used in the carrying and loading of the boat are amazingly re-used and turn into a very sturdy BOAT TRAILER. So when you are unhitched, settled and ready to fish/adventure the BoatHoist converts into a registrable boat trailer suitable for highway use increasing your freedom of where you can fish.
